ALTAMONT COMMUTER EXPRESS (ACE)
The Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) runs four trains daily (M-F) from Stockton to San Jose. To enhance the convenience of commuting, ACE has implemented the “barrier-free” system where passengers may purchase tickets in advance and validate each trip at a machine conveniently located at all ACE boarding platforms. The ACE ticket is also displayed to gain free access to numerous shuttles positioned at the ACE stations to carry passengers to employment sites in Alameda and Santa Clara Counties. To complete the barrier-free system, shuttles also connect to other transit systems such as Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and the Santa Clara light-rail system.
